Orthodox Church Serving St. Petersburg, FL
Our parish sits in Pinellas Park, about 10 miles northwest of downtown St. Petersburg. The drive takes about 20 minutes from downtown, less from the north and west of the city, and it stays on free roads the whole way. As St. Michael Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Свято-Михайлівська Українська Православна Церква), we are the only Ukrainian Orthodox parish on the western side of Tampa Bay, and our Sunday Divine Liturgy (Божественна Літургія) uses both Ukrainian and English. Below are routes from each part of St. Pete, the other Orthodox parishes nearby, and what your first Sunday with us will look like.
Getting here from each part of St. Petersburg
Times below assume no traffic.
Downtown, the Old Northeast and Snell Isle (about 10 to 12 miles, 20 minutes). Take I-275 North to exit 28, signed for SR 694 and Pinellas Park. Keep left toward SR 694 West, then turn left onto Gandy Boulevard at the end of the ramp. Follow it west about 3.5 miles, through the point where it takes the name Park Boulevard, and turn right (north) on 60th Street. Number 9201 is about 1.2 miles up.
Tyrone and the west side (about 6 miles, 12 minutes from Tyrone Square). Drive north on 66th Street North for a little over 4 miles, turn right on 90th Avenue North, then left on 60th Street; you will reach the church a short distance past that corner.
Kenwood and the Grand Central District (7 to 9 miles, 15 to 18 minutes). Go north on 49th Street North; from Grand Central, reach it by heading west on 1st Avenue North. At Park Boulevard turn left, then turn right on 60th Street.
Carillon and the Gateway area (5 to 7 miles, 11 to 14 minutes). From the Gateway area, head west on Gandy Boulevard past I-275; once the road is called Park Boulevard, watch for 60th Street and turn right. From Carillon it is quicker to take 118th Avenue North west to 49th Street North, go south on 49th, west on 94th Avenue, and south on 60th Street.
Pinellas Point and the south of the city (about 15 to 17 miles, 25 to 30 minutes). Take I-275 North all the way to exit 28 and continue as from downtown.

If you are drawn to Orthodox Christianity with no Ukrainian roots at all, you are just as welcome. Our feasts follow the Revised Julian (New) Calendar, as the Greek parishes do, and a large part of each Liturgy is in English. Baptisms, weddings and memorials
Fr. Stephen serves baptism, weddings and memorial services in Ukrainian, English or both languages, as your family needs. For a wedding, begin the conversation at least six months before the date. After a death, please phone Fr. Stephen right away, and we will help you plan the funeral and the prayers that follow.
Your first Sunday
Hours and Confession begin at 9:30 AM, and the Divine Liturgy follows at 10:00 AM. Afterward, stay for coffee and fellowship in the parish hall.

What St. Petersburg visitors ask
How long is the drive from St. Petersburg?
From downtown St. Pete it is roughly 10 to 12 miles, about 20 minutes without traffic. The north and west of the city are nearer: about 11 minutes from Carillon and 12 from Tyrone Square. From Pinellas Point, at the southern tip, allow up to half an hour.
Do I need a toll road?
No. Every route on this page uses free roads: I-275 North, 66th Street, 49th Street, Gandy Boulevard and Park Boulevard.
Can I follow the Liturgy if I speak only English?
Yes. English runs through the whole Divine Liturgy alongside Ukrainian, the Scripture readings are in English, and so is the homily. Pick up a book with the two languages side by side at the entrance and follow along.
Is the Ukrainian church in St. Petersburg Orthodox?
Epiphany of Our Lord in St. Petersburg is a Ukrainian Catholic parish, in communion with the Church of Rome. St. Michael is Ukrainian Orthodox. The two Liturgies look very much alike; our page on Orthodox and Ukrainian Catholic churches explains the difference.
What should I expect on my first Sunday?
Come a few minutes before 10:00 AM, find a place in the nave, and pray as you are able; standing, sitting and simply listening are all fine. Only Orthodox Christians receive Holy Communion, and every visitor is welcome to the blessed bread at the end and to coffee in the parish hall. Read our first visit guide before you come.
